Our new multi-word verbs

Here are some of the multi-word verbs we have studied. Can you think of (and write) examples for the words without examples?

  • print out
    • I printed my homework out and put it on the table.
  • click on
    • He clicked on the icon to go to another page.
  • download
  • put in
    • You are putting the pen in your pocket.
  • turn off
    • You are turning the lights off to save energy.
  • take out
    • You take the trash out every morning.
    • She opened her purse and took out a coin.
  • pick up
    • Işıl is always angry with me, because I never pick up my dirty clothes from the floor.
  • do it up
    • She couldn’t do her skirt up because she is fat.
    • Everybody was laughing, because the teacher forgot to do up his trousers after going to the toilet.
  • put on
    • He put on his best suit for the wedding.
  • throw away
  • take back
  • try on
  • put in
  • take off
